Welcome! I'm Casey, a cordon bleu chef, with a certificate in hormone health, food writer and busy mom in my 40s who loves sharing how I'm currently eating for perimenopause!
What You'll Find Here
I started experiencing symptoms of perimenopause in my late 30s and after some learning (and experimenting in my kitchen), I realized how eating for perimenopause could support how my body and mind felt.
This blog is to share what's been working for me: low-processed, hormone-balancing, and gut-nourishing recipes my whole family loves, that also support the perimenopausal body.
After a year of mood swings, energy crashes, unexplained weight gain, bloating, hair loss, 2 am wake-ups, and fatigue, I found a personal diet plan for perimenopause that has me feeling calmer, more energized, and just more myself, really.
To me, my kitchen is my sanctuary, a place where I play, create and curb my anxiety. From my calming Sunday meal prep for the week ahead to my midweek meals, everything here is focused on hormone balance and gut calm without being overly restrictive. I still bake myself something delicious at least once a week because 1) baking brings me SO much joy and 2) life’s too short not to have a sweet treat!
As an experienced chef and recipe developer with a certificate in hormone health from IIN, with an active household, I blend practical wellness and my foodie skills. I still make my family's (most requested) comfort foods, just with a few tweaks to boost protein, fiber and blood sugar stability.
My goal here is to help you work on easy, delicious ways to increase protein and fibre, make blood sugar balancing breakfasts and boost the nutrient density in your meals during perimenopause and beyond.
I’d love you to browse my recipes here, reach out to me on social media (you’ll find me in my home kitchen) and sign up for my newsletter for exclusive tips. We are in it together, ladies, so let’s feel better, naturally!
